The expertise of our master coffee roaster comes into play at our London Roastery... ensuring that the flavour in the cup is the same incredibly high standard all year around. We achieve this by constantly checking and tweaking if needed our famous espresso blend recipe, creating the balance between acidity and the full rich flavour.
We source our coffees from around the globe, from an Ethiopian Yukro to a Kenyan AA, you’ll be tasting the unique characteristics, an unrivalled coffee experience.
We respect the expertise of our farmers, our directly traded model, guarantees prices paid above Fair Trade and allows us to positively impact their communities and improve the quality of their coffee harvests.
The beans at Social Impact Coffee are all q-graded beans, rated 80+. These are some of the world’s highest-rated coffees: the very definition of “quality coffee”.
Our caffeine fix
-
The price paid by a roaster for a directly-traded coffee is a function of its quality: the higher the quality of coffee, the higher the price. As a roaster, we're happy to pay this higher price - as exclusive, higher quality lots allow us to better differentiate our proposition.
-
The direct relationship between farmer and roaster enables greater visibility of the full supply chain, including the conditions of production (economic, social, environmental) at origin. This visibility can help to reassure the end-consumer of the ethical provenance of his or her coffee.
-
The longer term relationships between roaster and farmer provides the farmer with a feedback loop and the financial security (and sustainability) necessary to invest in future harvests. The higher prices paid for a specialty lot - typically, from 20% to 50% above the Fairtrade base price – reward the farmer for investing in quality. For the roaster, these sustained relationships are important as they provide beneficial access to a progressively improving and assured source of supply.
There’s no coffee on a dead planet. We must address climate change and protect biodiversity. We choose beans from regenerative farms. We are net zero working toward net negative. Our cafes are zero waste. We work with the WWF. And we hold our entire supply chain accountable.
